Nomaco Inc. received its ninth consecutive Gold Safety Award from the North Carolina Department of Labor at the Department’s Annual Awards Banquet on Friday, May 31, 2019.
The NCDOL Safety Awards Program recognizes private firms and public agencies throughout the state that achieve and maintain outstanding safety records. In continuous operation since 1946, the program extends to all North Carolina employers, and about 2,500 awards are presented annually. There are two levels under the annual safety awards program, gold and silver. The award level is determined by the qualifying criteria.
The Gold Award is granted to companies that achieve a rate at least 50 percent below the industry rate of days away from work, job transfer or restriction (DART).
Members of Nomaco’s NC Safety Committee attended the awards banquet Friday and received the award on behalf of Nomaco.
“We are very proud to have continued our record of safety for nine years running,” said Dennis Perry, Nomaco’s Director of Facilities and Safety. “It’s the concern and commitment of our associates that enables us to maintain a safe workplace and we all work together to do so.”
