Nomaco's original team of associates in Ansonia, CT.
This month marks Nomaco’s 37th anniversary! Chairman Marc Noel founded the company in Ansonia, Connecticut on June 12, 1979 to manufacture pipe insulation. Originally a subsidiary of NMC in Belgium, Nomaco brought the first direct extruded, flexible pipe insulation to the market in the United States.
Founded by Marc’s father, Gert Noël, the European company had a well-established reputation for innovative products, having become one of the first companies to adapt synthetic materials developed during World War II into commercial use.
Capitalizing on its immediate success in the insulation business, Nomaco accelerated its growth, adding backer rod (a foam product for the heavy construction industry) and custom items to its product line.
Today, as an independent company headquartered in Zebulon, NC, Nomaco is a leader in the design and extrusion of custom engineered foam products and components for a wide range of markets including construction, insulation, home furnishings, packaging, fitness & recreation and more.
