Nomaco Inc. received its sixth consecutive Gold Safety Award from the North Carolina Department of Labor at the Department’s Annual Awards Banquet on June 3, 2016.
The NCDOL Safety Awards Program recognizes private firms and public agencies throughout the state that achieve and maintain outstanding safety records. In continuous operation since 1946, the program extends to all North Carolina employers, and about 2,500 awards are presented annually. There are two levels under the annual safety awards program, gold and silver. The award level is determined by the qualifying criteria.
The Gold Award is granted to companies that achieve a rate at least 50 percent below the industry rate of days away from work, job transfer or restriction (DART).
Members of Nomaco’s NC Safety Committee attended the awards banquet Friday night and received the award on behalf of Nomaco.
“Employee safety is of the utmost importance to us at Nomaco and this award is a recognition of our commitment to safety,” said John Wojcik, vice president of Operations for the company.
