Nomaco Inc. is a global leader in custom thermoplastic foam extrusions and molded products used in a variety of industries including home furnishings, recreation, packaging, agriculture, marine, transportation and construction. Headquartered in North Carolina, Nomaco operates four facilities with a combined total of more than 1.5 million square feet of manufacturing space.
Founded in 1979, this profitable company continues to grow and thrive today with a business model based on cross-functional collaboration. The company incorporates principles from FranklinCovey, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to continuously improve processes and results.

History & Background
- 1979 – Marc Noël founds Nomaco, Inc. as a subsidiary of NMC s.a. and opens first plant in Ansonia, CT to produce extruded polyethylene products, including pipe insulation.
- 1986 – Nomaco begins manufacturing products for sporting goods, agriculture and personal care industries.
- 1989 – Operations move to Zebulon, NC, and company begins converting to CFC-free process. Nomaco is the first manufacturer in the industry to extrude without chlorofluorocarbons.
- 1992 – Nomaco begins supplying mattress components to the bedding industry.
- 1993 – Manufacturing of pool noodles and backer rod begins.
- 1995 – Youngsville plant opens to focus on manufacturing commercial pipe insulation and Nomaco Insulation soon becomes the US market leader in PE pipe insulation.
- 1997 – Manufacturing capacity is increased again with the opening of the Tarboro, NC, plant.
- 1998 – Nomaco launches Nomacorc®, the first extruded polymer wine closure.
- 1998 – Nomaco acquires Focal Point Architectural Products.
- 2003 – The Noël Group LLC is formed. This group is an industrial management company created to invest in, lead and strategically manage the various manufacturing companies that have evolved from Nomaco Inc., as well as new companies on the horizon.
- 2005 – Nomaco opens a western manufacturing and warehousing facility in Oklahoma City, OK, increasing total U.S. manufacturing capacity to 1.3 million square feet.
- 2006 – Nomaco launches Planet FOAM™ retail product line.
- 2007 – Noël Group acquires Spongex LLC and places the new organization under the management of Nomaco Inc. Nomaco opens a new facility in Tarboro, NC, to manufacture Spongex LLC products.
- 2007 – Nomaco Insulation transitions manufacturing operations to Tarboro, NC, and Oklahoma City, OK, locations.
